As part of an international multi-disciplinary team, Olin
Partnership participated in the urban planning and site design
for this 71-acre mixed-use development project on the River
Thames at Canary Wharf, London. Olin Partnership developed
a sequence of public spaces that are integral with the project
architecture and infrastructure. All of the squares, courtyards,
boulevards, and esplanades are located over occupied space.
This required the development of innovative construction and
planting technologies for the creation of 'established' landscapes
with semi-mature plant material. The project created one of
Europe's finest urban financial centers in a formerly underutilized
and derelict dockland.
