Cricket Brien

Cricket Brien, Associate

Cricket Brien has been with Olin Partnership since 1999, and has managed a range of projects from planning and design through construction administration. Recent projects include the Gennadius Library Gardens in Athens, Presidio of San Francisco Main Parade Grounds, the Science Hill plan and Sachem's Wood redevelopment for Yale University, and the MIT Campus Development Plan. In previous work experience, Cricket worked on a range of projects including botanic gardens, zoological gardens, public parks and private residences.

Cricket received a Master of Landscape Architecture and a certificate in Urban Design from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988. Prior to that Cricket worked for six years in consumer products advertising for a major New York agency. She also teaches at the Barnes Foundation Arboretum School in Merion, PA. Personal interests include contemporary literature, gardening and travel.
  Richard Newton, Associate

Richard Newton has been with the Olin Partnership since 1992. The focus of his work has been on public and university landscapes at all phases from masterplan to construction. Projects have included the University of Pennsylvania campus in Philadelphia, Hermann Park in Houston, College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, Canada Square in London and landscapes for Brancusi's sculpture ensemble in Tirgu-Jiu, Romania. Current projects include a landscape for the new Science Center at Duke University, and a new urban plaza in Cleveland.

He obtained a Diploma in Architecture from Manchester Polytechnic in England and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. He is registered as an Architect in the United Kingdom and as a Landscape Architect in the United States. As an architect in London, he worked on historic buildings, schools and on environmental impact studies. He has taught design studios and is a regularly invited critic in the Graduate School of Fine Arts at the University of Pennsylvania. He has also served as invited juror in the Department of Architecture at Philadelphia University and in the Departments of Landscape Architecture and Architecture at Temple University.
 

Hallie Boyce, Associate

Hallie Boyce received a Bachelor of Art in Art History from Bucknell University in 1985, and researched private art collections for the National Gallery of Art's 50th Anniversary Campaign from 1986 - 1989. She received her Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Virginia in 1992. Prior to joining the firm, Hallie worked on a variety of landscape architectural projects throughout Virginia, including private estates, campus plans, museum gardens and public parks.

Since joining Olin Partnership in 2001, Hallie has worked on Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York City, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Business in Cambridge, and Mission Bay Commons Park in San Francisco. Current projects include a framework plan for Harvard University's Allston Initiative and two projects for the University of California at Berkeley: the renovation of Memorial Stadium, and the Law and Business Connection Building. Presently she is assisting with a design studio at Temple University. She served as a guest juror at the University of Virginia and continues to participate on design juries at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Fine Arts and at Temple University. She is a Registered Landscape Architect in Virginia.

Yue Li, Associate

Yue Li has been with Olin Partnership since 1997. As a registered landscape architect, she has worked on a wide range of institutional and urban landscape projects, including the Center for Government and International Study at Harvard University in Cambridge, the Ray and Maria Stata Center at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Qianlong Garden Restoration Study for the National Palace Museum of Beijing, Mission Bay Streetscape and Open Space Development in San Francisco, and Canada Square at Canary Wharf in London. She is currently managing the Life Science and Technology Building at Cornell University in Ithaca, and Comcast Center in Philadelphia.

Yue participated in design competitions for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2010 Shanghai World Exposition. She critiques the work of students at University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Fine Arts and Tsinghua University Architectural School. She obtained her architectural and urban design degrees from Tsinghua University in China and her landscape architectural degree from Pennsylvania State University.
  Bryan Hanes, Associate

Bryan Hanes joined Olin Partnership in 2000, bringing valuable knowledge in design and planning gained through previous office experience. As a Registered Landscape Architect and LEED Accredited Professional, Bryan has been involved in a diverse range of work, from significant urban and open space planning and design projects, to small-scale designs for institutional and private clients. His most recent projects include Independence National Historical Park and Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, Yale University's Hewitt Quadrangle, the Philadelphia Museum of Art's sculpture garden, and the Brancusi Ensemble in Romania.

Bryan has been an Adjunct Professor at Temple University, leading introductory design studios and graphics courses, and has served as a computer and technology advisor to the National Park Service Cultural Landscapes Division. He has participated on design juries and lectured at many universities, including Temple University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and Virginia Tech.
 

E. Allan Spulecki, Associate

Allan Spulecki joined Olin Partnership in 1995. During his time with Olin Partnership, Allan has worked on a variety of institutional, academic, civil and municipal projects from the schematic design phase through construction. Projects have included the Reconstruction of Columbus Circle for the City of New York, Streetscape for Columbus Centre, New York City, The National Constitution Center, Independence National Historic Park, in Philadelphia, the Washington Monument Security Project in Washington, DC, the United States Air Force Memorial in Arlington, the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, and the Science Engineering Quadrangle at Stanford University. Currently, Allan is currently working on the Fran and Ray Stark Sculpture Garden in Los Angeles and the Rodin Museum Garden Restoration in Philadelphia.

Allan earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from The Catholic University of America in 1981. He worked in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area as a project Architect until 1992. Allan entered the Graduate School of Fine Arts at the University of Pennsylvania where he completed both a Master of Architecture in 1993 and a Master of Landscape Architecture in 1995. He is both a Registered Architect in the District of Columbia and a Registered Landscape Architect in Pennsylvania.

  Jean Weston, Associate

Jean Weston joined Olin Partnership in 1997. In addition to the Bachelor of Science Degree in Landscape Architecture she received from Temple University, Jean holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics from Vassar College. Jean is a licensed Landscape Architect.

Jean began her career in London working for a major oil company in marketing economics. She married, raised a family, and spent time working as a "Professional Volunteer" for the PTA, League of Women Voters and Planned Parenthood as a board member and sometimes board president in Minnesota and Utah. When Jean's husband was transferred to Pennsylvania, she worked in personnel and later in the site administration of a historic house museum in Doylestown.

Since coming to Olin Partnership, Jean has worked on the Independence National Historic Park Master Plan from masterplan through construction, and Comcast Center in Philadelphia, Two Horseshoes Ranch in Colorado and a new town development in the Cayman Islands, with a particular focus on native plant ecosystems.
  Sophie Robitaille, Associate

Since joining Olin Partnership in 2002, Sophie has been integrally involved in many of the studio's award-winning projects, from large-scale urban redevelopments to the design of intimate public spaces. She excels at finding innovative, layered and beautiful design solutions by integrating the goals of diverse constituencies while carefully considering the cultural, regional and natural context. She is a skilled and passionate communicator on project teams, in the Olin Partnership studio, and as the leader of Olin's Sustainability Initiative. Prior to joining Olin, she worked in Canada, France, and the west coast of the US. Her multi-cultural background together with her profound appreciation of ecological systems, inform her designs and holistic approach to the practice of Landscape Architecture and Urban Design.

Sophie received a B.S. in Biology and Environmental Sciences from McGill University, and an M.LA from University of Oregon.
